Mike Hussey Calls MS Dhoni the Greatest Finisher

Mike Hussey: "MS Dhoni is a seasoned and hardened professional. He knows what he needs to do to get ready physically and mentally for a tournament. He was putting in a lot of hard work in the lead up to the IPL. I am sure it won’t take him too long to get to the level he needs to play well and contribute. If he still wants to play international cricket and the selectors want him in the team, then, of course, there is a future for MSD in the Indian team."

"MS Dhoni is the best I have seen in terms of finishing capabilities. It is because he has a calculative mind and plays smart cricket. He can still remain calm under pressure and has incredible power. AB de Villiers is also up there with the best of the lot but MSD’s finishing skills are at another level."

Dwayne Bravo Thanks MS Dhoni

Dwayne Bravo said he owes a lot of the success in the later part of his career to the faith showed in him by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) management, saying he wants to do something for MS Dhoni now that he coming to the end of his career.

"CSK remade Dwayne Bravo," Bravo told Cricbuzz, speaking about how players like him and Shane Watson were persisted with by CSK, thus giving a second lease of life to their careers.

"I don't think you'll see a franchise like CSK again. A lot of credit for that has to go to Dhoni and Fleming," Bravo said.

He said, "I've asked myself many times, why someone like MS has so much faith in me. My own board and selectors don't have the same faith. But Mahi respects my talent and the way I play the game. That means a lot to me."

"I wanted to do something for him. He's coming to the end of his career, he's had a great career. He had a big impact on my career along with many others," he added, speaking on his latest song, titled "No.7" and with lyrics based on Dhoni.

Kapil Dev Takes Inspiration from MS Dhoni for his New Look; Calls him His Hero

MS Dhoni had famously cut off his long locks after winning the 2007 World T20 and even sported a semi-bald look after winning the 2011 World Cup.

Now former Indian captain Kapil Dev said that his new bald look is inspired by 2011 World Cup winning Indian captain M.S. Dhoni. And his beard is inspired by West Indies great Viv Richards.

"I also saw Dhoni who is also my hero and he had cut his hair after winning the World Cup. So I thought why not, now I have the chance so I did it," Kapil said in a video tweeted by Chennai Super Kings.

RP Singh Praises MS Dhoni

We haven’t seen anyone reading the game better than MS Dhoni. When to drag a situation, change it, leave it or how to carry on game from a situation, I haven’t seen anyone better than him in my playing career. He was a player who would read the situation differently,” RP Singh said.

With Dhoni, RP has a personal equation as well and continues to be a close friend. However, the duo’s career-graph took a contrasting turn once Dhoni was appointed India captain in 2007.

“We used to spend time together, then he became captain and his graph kept going up and mine down. But our friendship is intact and we still talk and roam around together. In cricketing matters we have different opinions,” he recalled.

Mohit Sharma Praises MS Dhoni

India pacer Mohit Sharma, who has played most of his cricket in the international arena and in Indian Premier League under Mahendra Singh Dhoni, said that the former skipper is a true leader who takes the responsibility of the team in the most challenging times.

His humility and sense of gratitude is what sets him apart from other players I have played with. In sport, there’s a difference between a captain and a leader – I believe he’s a true leader,” Sharma said during an Instagram session organised by the Delhi franchise.

When the team wins, you’ll never find him anywhere prominently, but when the team loses, he’s always right in front, taking responsibility – that’s the sign of a leader and why I admire him so much,” he added.

KL Rahul On MS Dhoni

“I was nervous when I was doing (wicketkeeping) it for India because of the crowd pressure. If you fumble a ball, people feel that you cannot replace MS Dhoni. The pressure of replacing a legendary wicket-keeper like MSD was immense as it involved people accepting someone else behind the stumps.” Rahul said on Star Sports’ Cricket Connected.
